"Climbing around" is what I've done most of my life. Photography and writing evolved as a way to share these adventures. I've had many articles and photos published, and have included most of them.

I started this site as a project for a class, then expanded it to promote my photo services. In 2005 the site moved to my new domain, jimdockery.com, and was renamed to showcase prints for sale.

Use text in the banner photo to navigate. I've turned off the link colors on most pages for esthetic reasons, so click on underlined black text, or pictures. Feel free to use the pictures for noncomercial use as you please, just keep my copyright in place. Contact me for comercial of my digital images, slides, or articles. Please drop me E-Mail to let me know what you think of these pages, or to chat about mountains, photography, etc..

How to Tell the Top of a Hill

The top of a hill
Is not until
The bottom is below.
And you have to stop
When you reach the top
For there is no more UP to go.
To make it plain
Let me explain:
The one most reason why
You have to stop
When you reach the top - is:
The next step up is sky.
